Congratulations to all the Choir students who gave a wonderful performance when they represented the school at the Walk for the Monash Children’s Hospital over the weekend. Ms Crystal aptly led the Choir as they performed, ‘On Top of the World’ and ‘True Colours’ Thank-you to all the families involved for giving up your time on a Sunday to provide the students with the opportunity to give back to the community. Looking forward to many more Choir performances this year, including the Anzac Service and Open Night Concert in Term Two.
Senior Choir – Term Four 2014
The Senior Choir had a very busy Term Four with students singing at the Art Show, Whitehorse Spring Festival, Remembrance Day Service, R.S.P.C.A. luncheon, The Peter James Centre, school assembly and the Grade Six Graduation.
All the students worked hard every Thursday lunchtime with Ms Crystal to learn all the lyrics and their parts for the songs.
Congratulations to all the Senior Choir members for their lovely performances and thank-you for your commitment and dedication.
New Uniform
The Senior Choir has a new uniform. These tops are more practical for performances with movement and for performances in warmer months. The second half of the year is always the busiest for the Senior Choir with performance at school and in the community.
The new Choir tops were worn for the first time at the Oxfam Music Festival on Thursday 14th August. It was wonderful to see the Senior Choir join with the Little Sparks Choir to sing ‘You’ve got a Friend’, before singing ‘Lovely Day’ in three parts.
End of Year Performances
The Senior Choir has been particularly busy in the past week performing at the Peter James Centre on Monday 25th November, the Burwood R.S.P.C.A. on Wednesday 27th November and at our school assembly on Friday 29th November. All students worked really hard in choir with Ms Crystal to learn several new Christmas songs for the performances.
Whitehorse Spring Festival
Congratulations to all the students who performed at the Whitehorse Spring Festival on Sunday 20th October. The Senior Choir started the show with ‘Happy Endings’ followed by the Sparkle and Star Dance Troupes enthusiastically performing a medley. Both Glee groups danced and sang wonderfully before the boys from 5/6M energetically performed their production item. The Little Sparks Choir sang beautifully about the best gift of all being something that comes from the heart. The Diamond Dance Troupe performed a lyrical piece to ‘Different Worlds’ before all performers appeared back on stage to take a well earned bow. All students who performed should be very proud of their efforts. Thank-you to everyone who came along to help and support the students.
ACCord Concert
On Saturday 22nd June the Senior Choir performed at the ACCord Concert at One Community Church, in Blackburn. The students sang three songs as part of the school choir and performed beautifully for the very large audience. They then joined with all the other choirs to sing ‘Flint’ for the finale. Well done to all the students who sang on Saturday and special thank-you to Miss Pridgeon for all her hard work with the choir.
Peter James Centre and Open Night Performance
On Wednesday 22nd May the Senior Choir walked down to the Peter James Centre and performed for some of the residents. The students performed four songs and the audience was most appreciative. The students then stayed around for a drink and some cookies while chatting with some of the audience members.
In the evening the students returned to school to perform for Open Night. The Senior Choir was the first to perform at 7:30pm. The students arrived earlier to put on their Choir robes and warm-up their voices. The students sang two songs for the very large audience in the E. Wood Centre. Congratulations to all Choir members on a beautiful performance.
