Book Week
The Children's Book Council of Australia Book Week was celebrated this year from 20th - 26th August. This is a time for schools and public libraries to spend a whole week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illusstrators.
The shortlisted books for 2022 have been on display in the school library this term and teachers borrowed the books to read and do relevant activities with their classes.
Book Week celebrations started early with a performance all about the shortlisted books for 2022 two weeks ago.
Students then had the opportunity to wear pyjamas to school on Wednesday 24th August for 'Read in Bed Day' and shared their favourite books with the buddies.
Book Week culminated on Friday with a parade on the basketball court showcasing all the wonderful costumes students and their families bought/created in order to celebrate the joy stories bring us all. Congratulations to all the winning costumes carefully selected by our School Captain judging panel.
Thank-you to all students and their families who took part in celebrating Book Week.
