“We are committed to educating the whole child.”
Burwood Heights Primary School Kindergarten is committed to providing high-quality education and care to all children, to prepare them to become active, engaged and responsible citizens of the local and global community. Our kindergarten strives to prepare our children with the knowledge and skills that will help them to become life-long learners, who are happy and engaged participants of, and contributors to, our community.
We have high expectations for every child to develop at their own pace and gain in confidence, as they learn life-long skills. We believe that children are naturally curious, capable and unique individuals, who construct understandings of themselves, others and their community by actively engaging in rich, inclusive and diverse play-based experiences. Our programmes encourage children to question, explore, discover, reflect and make connections.
We are committed to educating the whole child, and are guided by the knowledge, skills, needs, ideas and interests of children and their families. We embrace, celebrate and share in the rich diversity of all cultures, particularly those represented within our community. Our staff are dedicated to building nurturing, inclusive, trusting and respectful relationships with every child and family.
We foster children’s agency by empowering them to express their ideas, share their perspectives and participate in decisions about their learning. The wellbeing, safety and rights of all children are prioritised, and staff undertake frequent professional development to ensure our practices remain responsive, inclusive and of the highest quality.
